Wilkie Martin is working on a series of novels set in a small town in the Cotswolds. Wilkie is shortlisted for the Impress Prize for New Writers for 2012 for his novel Inspector Hobbes and the Blood (under its earlier name Inspector Hobbes). The aim of this prize 'is to find exciting new, unpublished writing talent'. It offers publication by Impress Books to the winner.

He also writes odd poems, including a set about his Disastrous Relations (on youtube).

Wilkie also regularly attends and reads at the Writers in the Brewery evenings in Cirencester and has read his work at Cheltenham Festival of Literature in events supporting local writers and on local Corinium Radio.
